Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
As a former high school and college football Defensive tackle, my coaches would always tel l me to punchthrew people when I was lining up against them on the gridiron. As someone who didn’t start playing football until a senior in high school, I use to find the difficult at times, so I would try to avoid other lineman I lined up against in any way possible.
So not knowing the game, I would try to avoid the contact any way possible. My coach by the name of Cecil Flowe came up to me and grabbed my facemask andsaid “If you punch threw them hard enough multiple times, they will eventually give up and not try to compete with you as much as before.
I love how the scripture says “through the valley of the shadow of death” and it doesn’t say “over or under or around.” Sometimes in life there will be trials, tribulations, and temptations that we face.
By just avoiding the fact that they are present, not only does it cause those burdens to bear on us, but over time they will repeatedly show up in our lives time after time. We must understand that as believers in Christ, it is important to that trials will come, but If we go through the trials (with the Lord on our side) anything can be overcome.
Word for Thought: Face the Problem, “Punch” through it knowing the Lord in on your side
